BMG was started in 1996 by Mr. Mark Hammack.

Mark who had learned the art of working with natural stone at the young age of 12 knew at age 28 that was ready to began his own business. On a shoestring budget, with a young family to support he began.

Within 24 months the business had grown from a small shop with three eager employees to a full city block located on what is know as "Stone Row" in Portland Oregon. The business produced 2-3 kitchens daily, supplied thousands of natural stone slabs to homeowners and contractors alike, and ran multiple installation crews. The business was thriving but what was getting lost along the way was Mark's ability to be involved with every project.

After much deliberation he decided to downsize the business. He wanted to be more involved with his customers, their projects and most importantly with his family.



Today he is happily running a fabrication, installation, and tile edge crew from his shop in Sherwood. Today like the "Old Days" you can expect outstanding craftsmanship and an expert staff to answer your questions.
